Produced for three decades, from 1934 to 1964, reference 130 represents the archetype of the vintage Patek Philippe chronograph with Calatrava lines. Even though it was manufactured for a long period, production was quite limited, resulting in a total of about 1500 pieces produced. The cases, made primarily in yellow gold, were produced in rose gold, steel and steel-gold as well, but in much more limited quantities. The cases & dials were also the subject of great experimentation, with different designs, indexes, numerals & scales.
This example is an extremely rare case example, with never seen before hooked/rounded lugs. To our, and our renowned watch specialists extended knowledge, this is the only one known. The case was made by the well known & sought after case maker Emile Vichet, known for making the cases of the legendary Patek Philippe Ref. 1518. Which makes this example very sought after by collectors. Identified by his key stamp number 9 on the caseback.
